MOSCOW, December 24 (Itar-Tass) — A Syrian opposition delegation may visit Moscow before the end of the year, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told Russia Today television on Monday.
“We are in favor of unifying the opposition, and since the Geneva meeting we have been insisting that all those who have influence over opposition groups should help unify the opposition on the platform of the Geneva Communiqu·,” the foreign minister said.
“And that is the message that we are sending not only to the government but to all opposition groups. And we meet with all of them: just last week, there was one visiting us, and before the end of the year there might be some others coming from the opposition,” the top Russian diplomat said in the interview.
