About 1,000 people left without heating supply amid harsh frosts in Kaluga region

The restoration of the heating system is expected to be complete by 17:00 Moscow time on Sunday

KALUGA, December 23 (Itar-Tass) — As many as 980 people, including 198 children, were left without heating supplies amid the 20-degree frosts over the broken heating pipe in the town Kondrovo in the Kaluga Region, the press service of the Kaluga regional emergency situation department told Itar-Tass on Sunday.

The press service reported that the water pressure dropped at 09:20 Moscow time in the central heating system in Kondrovo over the water leakage from the reverse mainline. “Twelve emergency workers and three units of machinery, five teams of utility workers, 25 people and seven units of machinery were involved in the cleanup of the emergency situation,” the press service said. The water pressure is lower than the necessary level at 42 residential houses.

The restoration of the heating system is expected to be complete by 17:00 Moscow time on Sunday.
