Police Republic in Northern Caucasus have launched a search for one of the perpetrators of the murder of Kazbek Gekkiyev

NALCHIK, December 23 (Itar-Tass) — Police in the Kabardino-Balkar Republic in Northern Caucasus have launched a search for one of the perpetrators of the murder of Kazbek Gekkiyev, a television journalist of the local Vesti news program, a source at the press service of the republican Interior Ministry told Itar-Tass on Saturday.

“Operational and special measures are being taken to locate and detain Inoyat Tabukhanov,24, an active member of terrorist underground in Nalchik,” the press service went on to say. According to investigators, Zeitun Boziyev, a 30-year-old resident of Nalchik, is the second participant in that high-profile crime. The criminals’ identities have been established by recordings of video surveillance cameras.

Kazbek Gekkiyev, a 28-year-old TV presenter, was killed outside a private house on Kirov Street in Nalchik on December 5 when he was having a walk with his girl friend after an evening program.

Investigators link the murder to Gekkiyev’s professional activities. They believe the killers wanted to intimidate the public in the Kabardino-Balkar Republic.
