Situation in Syria, Iranian nuclear program to be discussed at RF-EU summit

Russia is ready to continue the dialogue, Chizhov pledged

MOSCOW, December 18 (Itar-Tass) —— The current tense situation in Syria and the Iranian nuclear program will be discussed at a Russia-EU summit in Brussels on December 21, Russian Permanent Representative in the European Union Vladimir Chizhov said during the Moscow-Brussels video bridge here on Tuesday.

The Sextet and Iran will continue their dialogue, he said. “Despite some difficulties and disagreements no one shut the door closed. This is our common achievement,” the diplomat noted.

“Meanwhile, the scope of bilateral issues will be discussed. Each of us has his problems, but we are two strongholds of what is called European civilization,” he added. Russia is ready to continue the dialogue, Chizhov pledged.
