ST. PETERSBURG, December 14 (Itar-Tass) —— Two people were injured in a gas explosion in St. Petersburg on Friday. They were taken to hospital.
The incident occurred near a building at Rustaveli Street at about 11:20 Moscow time during pipe replacement work. A gas bottle exploded in a ditch. The blast left one worker without a hand and another with back and lung injuries, a source at the Investigative Committee's Petersburg department told Itar-Tass.
An inquiry into the accident is launched.
