16 trains delayed in Chelyabinsk Region because of derailment

YEKATERINBURG, December 14 (Itar-Tass) —— Sixteen passenger trains are delayed in the Chelyabinsk Region because of the derailment of 23 cars, the Southern Ural Railway press service told Itar-Tass.

Traffic on one track between Flyusovaya and Syrostan was opened at 07:14 Moscow time on Friday. An alternative route was organized for passenger trains. Sixteen trains are delayed for 4-14 hours, including those from and to Moscow, Adler, Simferopol, Anapa, Kislovodsk and Chelyabinsk.

Sixty eight passengers stay in comfortable rooms at railways stations in Chelyabinsk, Miass and Troitsk, and 34 are in rooms for mothers with children. Hot meals are provided for passengers at the station in Chelyabinsk.

The accident occurred on Thursday, December 13, on the Southern Ural Railway. Twenty three cars loaded with coal derailed at the Syrostan-Flyusovaya section. The adjacent track and three supports were damaged. An inquiry has been launched into the case.
