Three people died, 12 injured as building collapsed in Taganrog

According to preliminary reports, four more people could be trapped under the rubble

MOSCOW, December 13 (Itar-Tass) — Three people died when a building collapsed in the Rostov region in southern Russia on Thursday night. Twelve people were hospitalized.

“Rescuers retrieved 15 people from under the rubble. Three of them were dead and the other 12 were injured. They were taken to hospital,” a source at the main department of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Rostov region said.

According to preliminary reports, four more people could be trapped under the rubble.

The collapsed building was in the process of construction. The Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations has set up a working party under the government commission for emergency situations headed by Pavel Plat, the deputy head of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations, the Ministry’s information department told Itar-Tass.

A total of 170 people have been mobilized for the search and rescue operation.
