Russian president offers condolences over death of opera singer Galina Vishnevskaya

Putin has always appreciated her talent and her social activities, the work she was doing to bring up younger generations

NOVO-OGARYOVO, December 11 (Itar-Tass) —— Russian President Vladimir Putin has offered his condolences to the relatives of acclaimed opera star Galina Vishnevskaya, who died on Tuesday, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday.

“Putin has always appreciated her talent and her social activities, the work she was doing to bring up younger generations,” he said.

The 20th century opera star Galina Vishnevskaya, the holder of the USSR People’s Artist title, has died, the Vishnevskaya Opera Center told Itar-Tass earlier on Tuesday. She was 86.
