MOSCOW, December 9 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia is not conducting any talks on the future of Syrian President Bashar Assad, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Sunday.
“All attempts to present the state of affairs in a different way are very dirty even for the diplomacy of those countries which are notorious for their habit of distorting facts in their favor,” Lavrov said. “We shall not permit a re-run of the Libyan experience in Syria. Our NATO counterparts then grossly distorted the mandate they had under the UN Security Council’s resolution and instead of enforcing a no-fly zone regimen they went to war against the existing authorities,” Lavrov said.
