Russia to give worthy response to unfriendly Magnitsky Act - Ushakov

Still I am curious why staging the same old song and dance,” Ushakov asked

MOSCOW, December 9 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia must react to the unfriendly Magnitsky act and will react to it, presidential aide Yuri Ushakov told an audience of Vladimir Putin’s trusted proxies on Sunday.

He recalled that the Magnitsky bill had already been submitted to US President Obama for signature and would take effect as of January 1.

“On New Year’s Eve the Americans have given us a fresh reminder of how politicians on Capitol Hill see Russia,” Ushakov said. “Stereotypes last and many are still unable to get rid of them.”

“This is a very unfriendly step. Moreover, we are forced to take counter-productive steps, too,” the presidential aide said. “We must respond and we shall.”

“Still I am curious why staging the same old song and dance,” Ushakov asked.
