Search underway near Moscow for missing private helicopter

Nearly 150 people and three helicopters are involved in the search and rescue operation

MOSCOW, December 9 (Itar-Tass) —— A missing private helicopter with three on board is being looked for in the Tver Region and near Moscow.

The Emergency Situations Ministry office for the Moscow Region has told Itar-Tass there was a call late Friday night communication had been lost with the crew of an R-44 Robinson private helicopter, which had left the village of Ploski, the Konakovo district, of the Tver Region.

“The helicopter took off at 17:30 and was expected to land near a village in the Dmitrov district of the Moscow Region. The distance between the takeoff site and the destination is about 80 kilometers.

The helicopter’s emergency beacon is silent.
