Child missing for several days found safe

The police try to find out how a schoolboy, aged 9, came to be in a flat with an unfamiliar woman in the North-East of the capital city

 MOSCOW, December 7 (Itar-Tass) — The schoolboy, reported missing 4 days ago, was found safe & sound in Moscow, the Russian Investigative Committee told ITAR-TASS on Friday.

Ignat Ogleznev, 9, came to the musical school situated at Severny Boulevard approximately at 15.30 MT on December 3 accompanied by his grandmother. And later he vanished, moving in an unknown direction. The investigation initiated a criminal case on this fact, and operative HQ were set up. The officers of the Main Moscow Interior Department, the Moscow Criminal Investigation Department of the SK Main Investigative Department and volunteers were engaged in the investigation.

A young man saw a schoolboy on December 6 in the Moscow Underground (metro) in the company of a woman. The resemblance between the child he saw and the one reported missing struck him and he followed the strange woman to the dwelling house in Korneychuka street, took some photos at the site, immediately after that calling the police, the SK source said.

So the whereabouts of the boy were detected. As the child explained to the police, late on December 3 he encountered an unfamiliar woman, told her, he had escaped from home, and the stranger gave shelter to him. The investigation tries to find out why the woman had not turned to the police, although she knew, he was a runaway child.

According to the information the investigation possesses, the child is OK now.

The law enforcement bodies express their deep gratitude to all those who took the incident to heart and during all these days participated in the searching for the missing boy, SK said.

The investigation still continues, the details of the disappearance case are being clarified. One checks if the child had been abused in any way.
