ASHGABAT, December 5 (Itar-Tass) — Russia intends to protect the position of the CIS states at G-20 and G-8 summits in Russia, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State in a narrow format here on Wednesday.
The Russian president noted that at the APEC summit in Vladivostok last September “Russia was seeking to present its integration efforts in the beneficial way.”
“I should note that this fact raised a positive response of our partners in the Asia-Pacific Region. Next year Russia will host such a major international forum as a G-20 summit and a G-8 summit in 2014. I would like to assure you that we are also ready to take all your interests in account,” Putin stated.
Meanwhile, he voiced hope that all interests will be formulated timely.
“I hope to meet with some participants of the today’s meeting during these events, I believe it would be important for the promotion of our common interests,” the Russian president underlined.
