ASHGABAT, December 5 (Itar-Tass) — A next CIS summit will be held in Belarus in October 2013, CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev said on Wednesday.

“At the initiative of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, a next CIS summit will be held in October 2013,” Lebedev said.

He also noted that “at the Russian initiative it was decided to extend the term in office for the incumbent CIS executive secretary until the end of 2016.”
