Bus passengers robbed on way from Dagestan to St.Petersburg

Four unidentified bandits who pursued the bus stopped the bus run by a driver from Makhachkala and robbed the passengers of cash totally worth 8 mln roubles

MAKHACHKALA, December 5 (Itar-Tass) — Bandits have robbed passengers on board a bus during a regular bus service from Makhachkala to St.Petersburg.

The incident occurred in the Tarumovsk district of Dagestan at the 311th kilometer of the Astrakhan - Makhachkala federal motoway at 9.45 pm Moscow time Tuesday, a source from the Dagestani Interior department told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.

Four unidentified bandits who pursued the bus stopped the bus run by a driver from Makhachkala and robbed the passengers of cash totally worth eight million roubles. The bandits escaped.

All the local police departments have been put on alert. A criminal case was opened on charges of theft committed by a group of armed criminals on preliminary conspiracy.
