Infortrend Now Supports VMware's vCenter SRM and vSphere API for Storage Awareness

The support means better integration and management for the datacenter under VMware's environments

TAIPEI, July 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Infortrend® Technology, Inc, (TWSE: 2495) today announced that the EonStor DS family storage systems now support VMware's vCenter Site Recovery Manager (SRM) and vSphere API for Storage Awareness (VASA). The support means better integration and management for the datacenter under VMware's environments.

VMware SRM enables integration with array-based replication while also providing users native VMware vSphere-based replication engines running on VMware vCenter with better disaster recovery capabilities. When virtual machines at one site shut down, copies of these virtual machines at the other site start up and assume the same operation and services.

While VASA is a control panel API for vSphere, it allows vSphere to both monitor storage configurations and to set storage properties. With the support of VASA, users can easily acquire detailed information of their EonStor DS RAID storage systems include storage health status, configuration, capacity, thin provisioning, etc. The open source information forms a seamless integration between storage, virtual infrastructure and the optimization of VM environments.
