SEPANG, Malaysia, Feb. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (Tokyo:7272) on February 4 held the "Yamaha Motorsports Press Conference 2014" at the Sama-Sama Hotel in Sepang, Malaysia, to announce its motorsports activities including races to participate in and each team's structure.
While Yamaha Motor outlined this season's direction in MotoGP, the pinnacle of motorcycle road racing, riders Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi from Yamaha Factory Racing and riders Bradley Smith and Pol Espargaro from Monster Yamaha Tech3 spoke about their ambitions for this season and their impressions of the 2014 machines at the news conference.
Yamaha Motor unveiled an initiative to energize MotoGP by developing new constructors as well as new engine leasing arrangements from this season (the first for Yamaha). Staff from Forward Racing also made a guest appearance.
