SPIEF 2019 Culture Festival to Feature the Rock Band Bi-2 and Classic Opera Stars

St.Petersburg, April 26. A new format of festival will be presented for the city’s residents and guests by the St. Petersburg Government with the support of the Roscongress Foundation during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on 6–8 June 2019. The festival’s creative concept will allow to combine events of different genres: from performances in leading theatres and exhibitions in the St. Petersburg’s famous museums to an extensive musical programme and tours. The goal of the festival is to create a unique brand and to put a signature St. Petersburg musical event on the map.

Two concerts will be held on Palace Square in St. Petersburg as part of the ‘From Classics to Rock’ music festival. On 7 June, classical genre will be represented by one of the world’s leading classical opera tenors, Andrea Bocelli, along with a guest soprano, a celebrity opera singer, soloist of the Vienna Opera, Aida Garifullina. The concert will be held with the support of Tinkoff Bank, the general partner of the Forum.

On 8 June, classic and rock will come together on Palace Square: as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum Gala concert, the legendary rock band Bi-2 will perform, accompanied by the symphony orchestra conducted by the Merited Artist of Russia Felix Aranovsky. Thanks to their fruitful cooperation and friendship, the band and the famous conductor recorded the orchestral versions of the best Bi-2 hits, and they will present them to the public at the SPIEF culture festival.
