Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation Anton Kobyakov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Russian Federation Sylvie Bermann held a meeting as part of the Russian Investment Forum.
Discussion touched on collaboration between Russia and France as a part of key international events organized by the Roscongress Foundation. Particular focus was put upon possible formats for participation in the upcoming 'Arctic: Territory of Dialogue' International Arctic Forum (St. Petersburg, 9–10 April 2019), the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (St. Petersburg, 6–8 June 2019), with the organization of a national stand, the Eastern Economic Forum (Vladivostok, 4–6 September 2019), Russian Energy Week (St. Petersburg, 1–5 October 2019), the business forum at the Russia-Africa Summit (Sochi, October 2019), as well as the special presentation of the 5th International Arctic Forum for the ambassadors of member states and observer countries of the Arctic Council (18 February, WTC).
Bermann noted: “The Forum in Sochi has aroused interest among representatives of the French business community”. About 40 companies are participating in the event. They include the heads of subsidiaries in Russia (Bonduelle-Kuban LLC, L'Oreal CJSC, Moet Hennessy Distribution Rus LLC, Renault Russia CJSC, and Sanofi Russia JSC) and representatives of head offices (Soprema SAS, SUEZ Groupe SAS).
The meeting addressed the issue of the France–Russia–Eurasia Forum project with the participation of representatives of state authorities, business, the expert community, and the media. “I would be grateful for your appreciation of the relevance of the selected forum topics to a French audience, and I also hope for the support of the embassy in informing the French business community about the event during its preparation,” Kobyakov said.
Ambassador Sylvie Bermann, in turn, expressed thanks for being invited to events organized by the Roscongress Foundation. Anton Kobyakov and Sylvie Bermann considered the possibility of organizing a joint event along the lines of a Russian-French Business Dialogue, which would be held on an ongoing basis.
At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to discuss proposals and maintain a dialogue concerning all current areas of cooperation.
