Young endocrinologists at the Healthy Life Forum: Towards 80+

The Russian Young Endocrine Scientists (RYES) will hold a meeting on 13 February on the theme: ‘Hormones on the Path to Longevity’. The discussions of this event will be part of the business programme of the Healthy Life Forum: Towards 80+ (6+), which will be attended by international experts and will take place on the opening day of the Russian Investment Forum (6+) in Sochi.

During the meeting, industry professionals will discuss pertinent issues concerning scientific development, the prospects and achievements of modern treatment methods as well as modern approaches to treating diseases of the endocrine system. Discussions will focus on creating a healthy lifestyle and habits among people of all ages. RYES representatives will be actively involved in the Forum’s main scientific and educational events.

The Russian Young Endocrine Scientists is a voluntary public organization that aims to draw young people’s attention to medicine and endocrinology, in particular to improve the skills of young scientists, conduct scientific research on endocrinology and related disciplines, and organize and conduct scientific practical activities. “Along with its foreign colleagues, the RYES will hold interactive seminars on the sidelines of the Healthy Life Forum: Towards 80+ for health professionals and anyone who is interested in health and longevity and talk about the causes and effects of the most common diseases of the endocrine system and their treatment and how hormones are important on the path to successful longevity”, Chair of the Russian Young Endocrine Scientists Patimat Khandayeva said.

The main focuses of the meeting programme were: ‘Pertinent issues in endocrinology’, ‘Disease without symptoms. How dangerous is osteoporosis?’, ‘Harmony in hormones’, ‘Diabetes under control!’ and ‘Obesity and diabetes mellitus 2: A strategy for managing the pandemic of the 21st century’.

The following international experts will take part in the discussion on ways to develop modern endocrinology and issues concerning menopause and andropause among the adult population: Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Inselspital Clinic of Bern University Hospital Martin Birkhaeuser (Switzerland), Endocrinologist, Diabetes Specialist, Andrologist, and MD PhD at the University Campus Bio-Medico di Roma Giuseppe Defeudis (Italy), and Endocrinologist, Andrologist, and MD PhD at the Navy Hospital of Athens and Secretary of the Hellenic Society of Andrology Dr. George Kanakis (Greece), among others.
