The most significant public-private partnership infrastructure projects of 2018 will receive the ROSINFRA National Infrastructure Award. The winners will be announced at the Russian Investment Forum (6+) in Sochi, organised by the Roscongress Foundation.
The ROSINFRA National Award is the only award for the best practices in infrastructure development and PPP in Russia. The PPP Development Centre with the support of Business Russia, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives established the award. The jury includes representatives of the Federation Council, the State Duma, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the Analytical Centre for the Government of the Russian Federation, heads of leading public organisations and business associations. The Russian Investment Forum in Sochi hosts the award ceremony for laureates since 2017. Annually, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev extends a welcome speech to the participants and winners of the award.
Following the results of 2018, the award distinguishes the best PPP projects in various sectors of the transport and social infrastructure, as well as environmental protection, housing and utilities and urban development projects. Federal, regional and municipal government agencies with professional PPP competencies that take the most advanced approaches in project preparation will receive the ‘Qualified Customer’ award. The ‘Private Initiative’ award will be presented to an investor with the most effective and elaborate proposal for a concession agreement. Bankers, investors and consultants will be awarded in special categories. The project that had the greatest impact on the development of a region, industry, or PPP in general will receive the ‘Transaction of the Year’ award.
The ROSINFRA Infrastructure Congress event ‘National Infrastructure Priorities for 2024: Defining Them Quickly, Implementing Them Effectively’ is to host the award ceremony. Key issues to be discussed at the session: will the national projects prove effective in helping to tackle infrastructure challenges in the regions? How can project selection and preparation phase be completed efficiently in a timely fashion to move forward? Will existing support tools and proposed standard solutions be helpful in this case? What are the essential conditions for state funding and money allocation from the Development Fund? Will cooperation between the primary development institutions create synergy in infrastructure development?
