Sergei Zheleznyak said the Syrian leader noted that Russia is a multi-confessional state

DAMASCUS, April 15. /TASS/. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has said he will be glad to use the Russian experience in organizing multi-party elections in his country, member of Russia’s State Duma (lower house of parliament) Sergei Zheleznyak told reporters following meeting between Russian delegation and the Syrian leader.

"We would be glad to use Russia’s experience of party and parliamentary work, particularly in organizing multi-party elections, all the more so because Russia is a multi-confessional state," Zheleznyak quotes Assad as saying.
