MOSCOW, April 9. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin drew attention of German Chancellor Angela Merkel to inadmissibility of provocations and speculations on the topic of possible use of chemical weapons in Syria, the Kremlin press service said on Monday after their telephone conversation.
"The leaders exchanged views on the situation in Syria, including in the light of allegations by a number of Western states accusing Damascus of the use of chemical weapons. The Russian side stressed the inadmissibility of provocations and speculations on that matter," the Kremlin said.
According to the press service, the Russian president stressed the importance of consolidation of international efforts to normalize the humanitarian situation across entire Syria in line with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2401.
