MOSCOW, December 22. /TASS/. The congress of Russia’s Yabloko political party has nominated its founder and Chairman of the party’s Federal Political Committee Grigory Yavlinsky as its candidate in the upcoming presidential election.

The voting took place on Thursday, the first day of the congress, but the official results were announced on Friday.
"Ninety-eight votes for and four against," the chairman of the vote-counting board announced.
The party’s press service informed TASS that member of Russia’s Central Election Commission Siyabshakh Shapiyev monitored compliance with all procedures.
Russia’s presidential election is scheduled for March 18, 2018.
