WASHINGTON, December 12. /TASS/. The Consulate General of Russia does not have the information on any Russian citizens among the victims of the attempted terrorist attack in New York, according to press secretary of the Russian Embassy in Washington Nikolai Lakhonin.

According to Lakhonin, the Russian Consulate General reacted anxiously to the news about the attempted terrorist attack in New York. The Consulate does not have any information on Russians citizens among its victims, he added.

Lakhonin aslo said that the methods of international terrorism are the same throughout the world, they are well known to Russia. Only through joint and coordinated actions, including resuming counter-terrorism efforts of the special services, it is possible to provide safety for the citizens, he added.

Earlier an improvised device exploded in the subway passageway in midtown Manhattan. According to the recent reports, there were no people in life threatening condition.
