MOSCOW, December 4. /TASS/. Russia’s Foreign Ministry is insisting that the access to the State Duma (lower house of parliament) should be rescinded for American media outlets receiving funds from the US Department of State, the ministry’s Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a meeting of the Duma Committee for Control and Regulations on Monday.

"We believe that yanking RT’s Congress accreditation should result in US media being denied access to the State Duma’s events," she said, adding that she referred to the media outlets "which receive funds from the US Department of State."

"We insist that retaliatory measures be taken to mirror theirs. These actions should not apply to all news outlets, as the response needs to be precise," Zakharova noted.

She also pointed out that a total of 117 journalists representing 23 US media outlets were accredited in Russia.
