Russian security chief calls to prevent military scenario on Korean peninsula

On November 29, North Korea carried out its new missile test after a 75-day pause

MINSK, November 30. /TASS/. Secretary of Russia’s Security Council Nikolai Patrushev has called to prevent a military scenario on the Korean Peninsula.

"What is happening on the Korean Peninsula is an issue that needs to be discussed and solved in a diplomatic way, and no way a military scenario should be allowed," Patrushev stressed.

North Korea carried out its new missile test early on Wednesday after a 75-day pause. According to South Korea’s Korea Joint Chiefs of Staff, the launch was carried out from the South Pyongan Province toward the Sea of Japan. The missile flew eastward, covering a distance of 960 km, at an altitude of up to 4,500 km.

US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley later called on all countries to sever diplomatic ties with North Korea, and limit military, scientific, technical, or commercial cooperation.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump said North Korea would "face fire and fury" if Pyongyang tried to carry out a missile or any other attack on the United States or its allies.
