Moscow receives invitation to take part in PACE Presidential Committee meeting

Russia’s Federation Council has received an invitation from the PACE to participate in the December 14 meeting

MOSCOW, November 29. /TASS/. Russia’s Federation Council (upper house of parliament) has received an invitation from the Presidential Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) to participate in the December 14 meeting where the future of the Council of Europe will be discussed, parliamentarians are to come up with a reply, Konstantin Kosachev, Chairman of the Federation Council International Affairs Committee, told TASS on Wednesday.

"The invitation has been received. We are working on the answer," the senator said when asked whether the Federation Council received the invitation.

For his part, a source in the Russian parliament likewise informed TASS that the invitation from the PACE Presidential Committee had been received. "The invitation to attend a Presidential Committee meeting has been received. Two people have been invited from the State Duma (lower house of parliament) and two from the Federation Council," the source said.

He noted though that a decision on the visit and delegation members had not been made yet.
