MOSCOW, April 4. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud have held a telephone conversation emphasizing the need to step up global efforts to fight terror, the Kremlin press service said in a statement.
"The Saudi king condemned the barbaric terrorist attack in St. Petersburg and conveyed his deep condolences to the Russian President and the people of Russia," the statement reads. "The two leaders emphasized the need to step up global efforts to fight terror."
"The parties confirmed their interest in boosting Russian-Saudi political interaction as well as trade and economic cooperation," the statement adds. "Upcoming contacts on various levels have also been discussed."
Besides, the Russian president reiterated his invitation to the Saudi king to make a visit to Russia.
The telephone conversation was initiated by Saudi Arabia.
