"The sides discussed prospects of further developing political dialogue, trade and economic cooperation, inter-parliamentary contacts, cultural and humanitarian ties in the context of preparation for the visit of the Japanese prime minister to Russia scheduled for the third ten-day period of April," the ministry said.

The diplomats also exchanged views on the global and regional agenda, including the situation in the Asia-Pacific Region, Europe and in the Middle East.
