Putin recalls holidaymaking in Turkey ‘before taking up job in Kremlin’

When asked about security guarantees for Russians in Turkey, Putin voiced the confidence that the Turkish government would do its best to assure secure holidaymaking for Russian tourists

MOSCOW, March 10. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday he often went on holidaymaking to Turkey before ‘taking up job in the Kremlin’ and the country produced a very good impression on him.

"The flow of Russian tourists to Turkey is a considerable factor for the Turkish economy and for the Russians, tool, holidaymaking there has become an important element of life in recent years," Putin said.

"Hundreds of thousands of Russians have spent vacations in Turkey and have found the environment there relaxing and friendly," he said. "We know this. I myself spent vacations in Turkey more than once before I took up job here in the Kremlin and I cherish very warm and good impressions from that experience."

When a reporter asked him if guarantees of security for the Russians existed in Turkey, Putin voiced the confidence the Turkish government would do everything in is power to assure secure holidaymaking for the Russian tourists.
