Russia, Belarus hold talks on security cooperation

Russia and Belarus are satisfied with the high level of cooperation in countering challenges and threats

MOSCOW, March 1. /TASS/. The Secretary of the Security Council of Russia, Nikolai Patrushev, held talks with his Belarusian counterpart, Stanislav Zas, about cooperation in the area security at a meeting in the Russian town of Suzdal.

"Nikolai Patrushev and Stanislav Zas talked about a wide range of issues on mutual cooperation in the field of national, regional and international security," the Russian Security Council’s press center told TASS.

The partners are satisfied with the high level of cooperation in countering challenges and threats in the frameworks of the Union State, the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Collective Security Treaty Organization. "Particularly, the countries confirmed their readiness to fully coordinate positions on crucial issues such as counter-terrorism," the press center noted. Besides, the secretaries discussed the conditions and the prospects of both countries’ cooperation in detail.
