TEL AVIV, February 22./TASS/. Israel promised to support a UN draft resolution, submitted by Russia for the Security Council’s approval, on fighting terrorism and violent extremism, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Oleg Syromolotov, told TASS during the conclusion of his visit to Israel.
"Russia introduced a resolution on countering extremism and terrorism at the UN Security Council, I asked Israel outright to support us, and they promised to do so," Syromolotov commented.
Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister noted that during the consultations in Jerusalem, he discussed with his Israeli counterparts the issue of cooperation between the two countries on the international level. "Of course the item was touched upon," the diplomat stated.
