Putin appoints new Russia’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia

MOSCOW, February 20. /TASS/. President Vladimir Putin has appointed Sergei Kozlov as Russia’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and, in addition, as Russia’s Permanent Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The relevant decrees have been published on the official website containing the legal information.

"Sergei Kozlov has been appointed as Russia’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia… as well as Russia’s Permanent Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia," the documents state.

Another presidential decree dismissed Oleg Ozerov as Russia’s Ambassador to the Saudi Arabia and as Permanent Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Oleg Ozerov had served as Russia’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia since March 2010 and had been Russia’s Permanent Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation since September 2011.

Sergei Kozlov served as Russia’s Ambassador to Yemen in 2010-2013.
