Foreign ministers of Russia, Turkey to hold meeting before trilateral talks on Syria

The trilateral meeting between Russia, Iran and Turkey will focus on the situation in Aleppo

MOSCOW, December 20. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu will hold a bilateral meeting before trilateral talks on Syria with the Iranian foreign minister.

"A bilateral meeting (with Lavrov) is planned for 11am, followed by a trilateral meeting," Cavusoglu told reporters on Tuesday.

The Turkish foreign minister also said that the trilateral meeting on Syria was confirmed during his telephone conversation with Lavrov after the assassination of Russian Ambassador to Ankara Andrei Karlov.

The trilateral meeting between Russia, Iran and Turkey will focus on the situation in Aleppo.
