ANKARA, December 19. /TASS/. Security measures at Russia’s embassy in Ankara have been tightened following assassination of Ambassador Andrei Karlov, a TASS correspondent reported from the site.

Police cordons around the embassy have been enhanced, with several dozens of policemen with automatic and crowd control weapons being on duty.

Security measures have been also enhanced at the building of the Russian consulate general in Istanbul, Russian Consul General in Istanbul Andrei Podyelushev told TASS. "Additional police forces were deployed at the diplomatic mission over protests periodically staged here. Now, additional police forces have arrived," he said.

Russian Consul General in Antalya Alexander Tolstopyatenko refused to comment on security measures at the mission. Local residents however told TASS over the phone that the situation in the resort city is calm, with no additional security measures taken.
