MOSCOW, December 15. /TASS/. The Russia-Turkey top-level cooperation council co-chaired by the two countries’ presidents will be held at the beginning of 2017, Turkey’s Ambassador to Russia Huseyin Dirioz said on Thursday.
"The Russia-Turkey top-level cooperation council will hold its meeting in early 2017," he said. "It is an important meeting."
Set up in 2010, the council is tasked to coordinate the implementation of projects of political, trade-and-economic and cultural-and-humanitarian cooperation. It meets once a year. It is co-chaired by the presidents of the two countries. A joint group on strategic planning co-chaired by the two foreign ministers has been set up within the council. Other structures set up under the council include the Public Forum of civil society organizations and the joint economic council uniting the two countries’ businessmen.
