MOSCOW, December 10. /TASS/. The Russian Federation Council’s delegation headed by Speaker Valentina Matviyenko will visit the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on December 10-13 to participate in the 11th Forum of Women Speakers of Parliament. The event will be held in Abu Dhabi, the Federation Council’s press service said.
The forum is organized by UAE’s Federal National Council and Inter-Parliamentary Council.
The topic of the forum will be "Rethinking the future: global tendencies in forming our world." Over 30 women speakers and vice speakers of parliament and inter-parliamentary associations will take part in the meeting. "Participants in the forum will discuss the role of legislators in ensuring social-economic development and settling international problems, issues of gender inequality and youth policies," the press service said.
During her visit to UAE, Matviyenko is expected to meet with UAE’s Federal National Council Chairman Amal Al Qubaisi. She will also hold separate meetings with other women speakers of parliament.
