Russia expects EU to take more active part in Ukrainian settlement

"We expect the European Union, the Normandy Four to take more effort in this area," Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said

OULU /Finland/, December 9. /TASS/. Russia expects the European Union to take a more active part in the settlement of the situation in Ukraine as Kiev seems to lack political will for that, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Friday after talks with his Finnish counterpart Juha Sipila.

"We exchanged information and opinions on the current state of things in Ukraine, as well as in such a hotbed of tension as Syria. I told Mr. prime minister that as for the situation in Ukraine we see that the Kiev authorities lack political will to negotiate the conflict settlement within the framework of the Minsk agreements. We expect the European Union, the Normandy Four to take more effort in this area," he said.
