MOSCOW, December 6. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has wished successful work to Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Thorbjorn Jagland, who is visiting Russia on December 6-7.
"Russia has been member of a respectable and universal international organization, the Council of Europe, for already 20 years, and over this time we have joined 60 agreements and protocols," Putin said as he met with Jagland on Tuesday.
He paid attention to Jagland's busy program in Russia, mentioning that he has already held talks with the Russian foreign minister and parliament speaker. "You have several more meetings ahead, and I want to wish you successful work," Putin said.
