Putin signs law boosting advertisement share in print media to 45%

Lawmakers say a change in the advertisement quota may help print media overcome economic difficulties by getting the needed advertising revenues

MOSCOW, December 5. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law increasing the advertisement share in print media from 40% to 45%. The document has been published on the official website containing all the legal information.

The State Duma (lower house of parliament) adopted the law on November 16, it was approved by the Federation Council (upper house of parliament) on November 29. The senators particularly noted that a change in the advertisement quota would help print media overcome economic difficulties by getting the needed advertising revenues.
