MOSCOW, November 22./TASS/. In a telephone conversation on Tuesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry discussed ways to settle the Syrian conflict, the Russian Foreign Ministry has reported, adding that the phone call was initiated by the US side.
It said the top diplomats "continued discussing ways to settle the conflict in Syria, including a need to comply with the demand of the UN Security Council on the start of intra-Syrian negotiations without preconditions, as well as the task to normalize the situation in eastern Aleppo, where illegal armed groups, with gunmen from the terrorist group Jabhat al-Nusra playing the leading role, have entrenched themselves," the ministry said.
