MOSCOW, November 17. /TASS/. Russia comes out in favor of joint with Turkey fight against terrorism, Russian president’s envoy for the Middle East and Africa told reporters on Thursday in comments on the possibility of a Russian-Turkish joint action against terrorism.
"We have always been in favor of this," Mikhail Bogdanov said. "Our president has for a long time urged a broad anti-terrorist front with the participation of all those who can, must and are ready to fight against terrorists," said Bogdanov, who is also deputy foreign minister.
"This is a common challenge and common evil, and in this case Turkey should play a very important role in these efforts and in achieving this goal - to liquidate a hotbed of terrorism not only in Syria, but also in Iraq," he said.
The diplomat also marked that "this must be done with the approval of all participants in this process, on the basis of respect for international law and of course subject to agreement with the central legitimate authorities in Baghdad and Damascus".
