Kremlin reports Putin, Security Council discuss Syria

The sides discussed the situation around Idlib, Homs and Aleppo regions

SOCHI, November 17./TASS/. At a session with the permanent members of the Russian Security Council, President Vladimir Putin discussed the situation in Syria, as well as domestic issues and the upcoming contacts of the head of state at the APEC summit in Peru, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"Along with current issues of Russia’s domestic social-economic agenda, they discussed in detail the situation in Syria, in particular the situation around Idlib, Homs and Aleppo regions," Peskov said.

He also said the participants in the session "exchanged opinions within the context of preparation for upcoming multilateral and bilateral contacts of the president at the APEC summit, on the sidelines of this summit in Lima, the capital of Peru".

Lima hosts a forum of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation on November 17-23.
