Russian lawmaker says Kirby’s rhetoric is evidence of Obama administration’s 'agony'

At a regular news briefing on Wednesday Kirby took the liberty of making unseemly remarks addressed to a woman correspondent of the Russian television channel RT

MOSCOW, November 17. /TASS/. Deputy secretary of the United Russia party’s General Council, member of the State Duma’s international affairs committee Sergey Zheleznyak has described aggressive rhetoric by US Department of State spokesman John Kirby and his verbal attacks against Russian TV journalists as clear evidence the outgoing Obama Administration is in agony.

At a regular news briefing on Wednesday Kirby took the liberty of making unseemly remarks addressed to a woman correspondent of the Russian television channel RT and refused to answer the question addressed to him. Also, he added he did not regard the television channel as an independent media outlet.

"Aggressive rhetoric by the US Department of State’s spokesman addressed to our country, groundless accusations towards Russia and contempt for Russian media workers are clear symptoms the outgoing Obama Administration is in agony," Zheleznyak told the media. He said that "in his anti-Russian hysteria the US official went as far as outspoken rudeness towards RT channel staff."

"Kirby once again accused the Russian military of air strikes against civilian facilities in Aleppo and claimed that no Russian humanitarian aid has been delivered to the city," Zheleznyak said. "As usual, no proof was provided."

"Mr. Kirby’s inadequate response to mass media requests for presenting facts and coordinates of allegedly attacked civilian facilities showed once again that the Department of State has no facts to back up the charges against Russia," he stated. "Obama’s russophobes have once again demonstrated craftiness and professional incompetence as they tried to add another portion of lies to the fire of anti-Russian propaganda," he concluded.
