Putin to start meetings with Defense Ministry, military-industrial enterprises

The last "week of defense industry" when Putin held daily meetings on aspects of this topic was held in May

MOSCOW, November 15. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin will start a series of meeting with leadership of the Defense Ministry and military-industrial complex enterprises on Tuesday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

The last "week of defense industry" when Putin held daily meetings on aspects of this topic was held in May. On November 15, "the president will start another series of daily sessions with the leadership of the Defense Ministry and heads of military-industrial complex enterprises, as well as government members in charge of this sphere," Peskov said. "The agenda will be very broad, and it will be daily work — many hours every day," he added.

This week of meetings on defense is the eighth such event. The format of "defense industry week" was first tried in 2013. Such meetings were traditionally held in Sochi. The Kremlin said earlier that diving into the defense industry matters allows the president to determine the existing problems of the Russian military-industrial complex and find solutions without distractions of daily routine of his schedule in the capital.

During the last series of meetings on defense held on May 10-13 in Sochi, Putin, in particular, discussed the work of the Russian Aerospace Defense Forces and Russian Navy in the conditions of the anti-terrorist operation in Syria, production of promising samples of high-precision weapons, implementation of the state defense order and other issues.
