MAKHACHKALA, October 26. /TASS/. Law enforcement are conducting a special operation targeting gunmen in a village in the Russian North Caucasus region of Dagestan, a source with the regional law enforcement agencies told TASS on Wednesday.
"The gunmen opened fire from a household cordoned off by law enforcers. A short exchange of gunfire followed. Now, due to the darkness, the active phase of the operation has been postponed till Thursday’s morning. The house from where the law enforcement officers were attacked has been sealed off."
The counterterrorism operation was launched at 16.30 Moscow Standard Time (15.30 GMT) in the village of Tagirkent-Kazmalyar in Dagestan’s Magaramkent region. Until a special order is issued, some temporary restrictions and special measures are imposed on the village.
