MOSCOW, October 16. /TASS/. Reconciliation agreements were signed during the day with representatives of more settlements in Syria, the Russian center for reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria said in its regular daily bulletin posted on the Russian defense ministry’s official website on Monday.
"During the day, reconciliation agreements were signed with representatives of eight Syrian settlements, including five - in the province of Latakia, two - in the province of Hama, and one - in the province of Homs. The number of settlements joining the reconciliation process has reached 807," the center said.
Talks on joining the regime of cessation of hostilities were continued with field commanders of armed opposition groups in the settlement of Muaddamiet al-Shih in the province of Damascus and commanders of armed opposition groups in the provinces of Homs, Aleppo and al-Quneitra. "The number illegal armed groups that declared their commitment to the ceasefire terms remains unchanged - 69," the bulletin says.
Ceasefire violations
A total of 41 ceasefire violations by illegal armed groups were reported during the day in Syria, including 19 - in the province of Aleppo, 15 - in the province of Damascus, four - in the province of Hama, two - in the province of Latakia, and one - in the province of al-Quneitra, as follows from the bulletin.
No air strikes were delivered by the Russian air group and the Syrian air force at armed opposition group which have declared cessation of hostilities and informed the Russian or U.S. reconciliation centers about their locations.
"Armed groups which have declared their joining the regime of cessation of hostilities conducted fire from mortars and firearms at the settlements of Harasta and Arbil, and positions of government troops near the settlement of Maza-Abu, a crossroads near the settlement of Arbil and height 612 in the province of Damascus; at the settlement of Azizi and the Hai al-Antari district in the province of Aleppo; at the settlement of Rashah and height 565 in the province of Latakia," the center said.
In the province of Aleppo, paramilitary terrorist groups shelled from home-made multiple missile launcher systems, mortars and firearms the settlements of Bakirtaya, Shurfa and Azizi, and Aleppo’s districts of Suleiman al-Halabi, 1070, Hai al-Antari, Sheikh Maksoud, Dahiya al-Assad, al-Maydam, a cement plant, the Castello trade center and positions of government troops in the districts of Ramusi, 1070, and Leramon.
In the province of Damascus, terrorists shelled the settlements of Hawsh-Nasri, Dahiyat al-Assad and Hawsh Harabu, a medical service school in the settlement of Harasta, a sports ground and a textiles factory in the settlement of Jobar, the Ibn al-Walid hospital and positions of government forces in the settlement of Jobar," the bulletin says.
In the province of Hama, terrorists shelled the settlements of Maharda, Hamamiyat and Kawbak, a railway station in the settlement of Narb Nafsa. The settlement of Jaba in the province of al-Quneitra came under shelling by terrorists.
Humanitarian assistance
According to the Russian center, efforts are continued to relieve the humanitarian situation in Syria. About 1.2 tonnes of food products - sugar, flour, rice, tea, canned meat and fish - were delivered to the settlement of al-Zayna in the province of Hama. As many as 650 packages of bread weighing about a tonne were delivered to Aleppo’s Sheikh Taha district.
Hot meals and living essentials distribution outlets are still open for civilians leaving Aleppo’s neighborhoods controlled by illegal armed groups, the center said.
Russian reconciliation center
The Russian Defense Ministry declared the establishment of the reconciliation center on February 23. It is headquartered at the Hmeimim air base, Latakia province. The center was set up in line with agreements reached by Russia and the United States to facilitate the negotiations between the Syrian government and opposition and to organize humanitarian deliveries.
