Two militants killed in special operation in Dagestan’s Derbent - source

The active phase has been suspended till Monday morning

MAKHACHKALA, October 16. /TASS/. Two militants were killed in a special operation in the city of Derbent in Russia’s North Caucasian republic of Dagestan, a source in the republic’s law enforcement agencies told TASS on Sunday.

"According to preliminary reports, two militants were killed in the special operation in Derbent. The active phase has been suspended till Monday morning," the source said.

Counter-terrorist operation regime

The regime of a counter-terrorist operation has been imposed in the city of Derbent in the Russia’s North Caucasian republic of Dagestan, a spokesman for the operations headquarters of the National Anti-terrorist Committee (NAC) in the republic said on Sunday.

"The regime was imposed at 20:00 Moscow time in the city of Derbent. Operations are being conducted to expose militants and their accessories," the spokesman said.
