MOSCOW, October 7. /TASS/. The situation in Iraq in the light of efforts against Islamic State (a terrorist organization outlawed in Russia) was in focus of a meeting brtween Russian president’s special envoy for the Middle East and African countries and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Iraq’s Ambassador to Moscow Ismail Shafik Mohsen, the Russian foreign ministry said on Friday.
"The sides discussed current issues of the regional agenda, first of all the development of the situation in Iraq in the light on ongoing confrontation with Islamic State, as well as the settlement of the Syrian crisis," the ministry said. "The two diplomats also touched upon a number of practical aspects of further expanding Russia-Iraq comprehensive cooperation."
